I shall seethe in silence!

This post is divided into two section: one that makes no sense, and one that does make sense. I shall not explain myself!

Some thoughts...

You can't want that which you don't know, and I feel like, inversely, if you know something you are more likely to want it. If you once had something, and you lost it, you can cling to an idea of that thing even when you don't want to. So, in a way, you are doomed by your own experience. There is no going back to the cave once you realize that the shadows are not the real thing. I am in that cave, you can come up to me and talk to me about the light from the outside world... and I shall seethe in silence.

Light novels never end...

On a more reasonable note, I am kind of blackpilled on light novels and to a lesser degree manga, much in the same way that I am of their adaptations. Hitting it big with a serialized manga, or getting your light novel published, is no easy feat, as such, once you've done it you want to keep publishing at all costs. It's like finding a good cow, you want to milk it as much as possible!

That's what these authors do to their light novels, it's like... 20 volumes still publishing since 2010 or something like that... does your story even have an end? And the worse part, let's say that they do finish the novel, now you have to wait for someone to translate all volumes. It's a lot of waiting, and probably by the time it's over people don't even remember the novel or want to translate it.

The same happens to manga, but the threat of cancellation at least makes it so they need to keep the story interesting, and if the interest is lost, then they can give it an end. Light novels are just the most egregious example because an author can publish a sequel after many years of hiatus. But TV shows also do it, and I don't like it, things need to end. That's the reason why I can't get into light novels... at least none of the ones I am interested in — and I say that because there are like 7 billion of them.

Writing is true slop, I say this while I seethe in silence!
